Discuss the plan for the day as a whole class during the morning meeting.
Chunking is a strategy that breaks down tasks into smaller, more manageable “chunks”. Doing this makes processing information easier for students, by allowing them to complete projects one step at a time.
- Break words down into smaller words and/or sounds
- Graphic Organizers
- Cut math fact worksheets into strips, reducing the number of problems students are seeing at once

Beginning-of-the-day and end-of-the-day to-do lists.
Develop a plan with the student to complete an assignment.
