Task initiation is the ability to independently start a task.

What do task initiation difficulties look like in the classroom?

  • A student doesn’t know what they should be doing after independent work time begins.
  • A student draws or doodles on their assignment instead of starting their work.
  • A student puts their head down on their desk when it is time to start classroom assigment.
